Personal mandala for Ruth and Mark.
40 cm Diameter
Pencil and acrylic on watercolour paper

 Hello! :)
One mandala done and one to go - almost done...will be back soon with it.
Also...a little note about commissions - I won't be taking anymore on this year as I am quite behind schedule. I will be finishing off the ones I have booked in and will start to take new commissions from next February. I wanted to thank everyone for their ongoing support with these works - its an honour to have a person entrust you their details to make that deeper level connection through art - its something that I have enjoyed very much over the years and I know I will continue to do so.

"Wandering Star"
Acrylic on Canvas
50 x 75 cm

Original Sold

Just a little note about this painting. It was initially inspired by the title with the same name from Portishead. Looking a little further into the meaning of wandering star I discovered the info below from wiki..."In antiquity the classical planets were the non-fixed objects visible in the sky, known to various ancient cultures. The classical planets were therefore the Sun and Moon and the five non-earth planets of our solar system closest to the sun (and closest to the Earth); all easily visible without a telescope....ancient astronomers noted how certain lights moved across the sky with the other stars. They called these objects asteres planetai, or wandering stars."

Anyway - based on that snippet of info I have my wandering star - she is depicted as the earth. She is leaving a trail of hearts in her path and her moon is close by her . The 5 planets are visible in the distance with the sun behind her head - which also represents the star that she is from the other planets perspective.
