Finally.... a new design :)! This one is sweet and very chunky - in media that is. Getting carried away with the paper again and really enjoying it.
It is called 'Union'. Water seems to symbolise the connection between the heavens and the earth, over and over in my paintings. I see it as a conduit for feeling and a link to the inner and outer worlds. It also runs 'through' her as well as being a part of her - and when it passes through her heart I feel myself taking a breath and my own heart trying to clear.
Anyway...somtimes the title is enough to explain all that :).
"Union" 35 x 70cm ( 14 x28 inches)
Mixed media on canvas.Original now sold.
Almost 2 weeks ago my computer got zapped by lightning. Unfortunately it died...taking with it most of my email contacts. So Maya - from Tumut - if you read this blog can you get in touch with me because I have lost all your contact details and can't return your mail.
Last weekend went well at Glenbrook Markets so I have decided to do another local market this coming weekend. You can find me at The Blue Gum Markets this coming Saturday (24th November) from 9am until 2pm. The markets are located at Faulconbridge Primary School in the lower Blue Mountains.
I will also be doing a day at the Bus Depot Markets in Canberra on the 9th December. This market is located at Kingston and is open on Sunday from 10am - 4pm. A few years ago I used to do a regular weekly stall here so I'm really looking forward to going back for the day.My aim is to do at least one market and sometimes two a week so I'm currently checking out a couple of markets in Sydney and surrounding areas as well. I have my eye on the Kirribilli Art Market at Milsons Point, Sydney, and the Coledale Markets close to Wollongong. I will keep dates and times posted as I find out where I will be next.
I get the feeling that my regular readers may be dwindling somewhat :)...due to my lack of posts. So I thought I better give an update of what is going on although there are not many finished paintings to post. I'm currently working on 8 paintings at once so they will start to appear over the next few weeks hopefully. I have decided to do some market stalls in the lead up to Christmas so I will keep places and dates posted as I work out where I will be off to next. I will be displaying a few originals but mostly prints and cards, mounted prints and magnets at they sell well for me. (Update: I will be at Glenbrook Markets on Saturday the 17th Nov. from 9am - 2pm - markets are located within the Glenbrook Primary School, lower Blue Mountains)
As for other news I recently participated in the Carrington Art Fair in Katoomba and met a lovely couple from Singapore who bought up a lot of my stock and are now selling it out of their shop - Faeries Retreat -in Singapore.
I have also been approached by a colour therapist from Canada - Francesca Durham - who will be interviewing me in January about my mandala artwork. The interview will be broadcast on blog talk radio so when I have a final date I will post it here also. I am rather nervous about it but it will be a great opportunity to speak more in depth - giving a richer background - to share what I do and where my inspirations are coming from.
