Just a short message to let people know that I will be at the Bus Depot Markets again this Sunday in Canberra - 10am -4pm. Last week was great so I decided to head back. See you there! :)

Finally.... a new design :)! This one is sweet and very chunky - in media that is. Getting carried away with the paper again and really enjoying it.

It is called 'Union'. Water seems to symbolise the connection between the heavens and the earth, over and over in my paintings. I see it as a conduit for feeling and a link to the inner and outer worlds. It also runs 'through' her as well as being a part of her - and when it passes through her heart I feel myself taking a breath and my own heart trying to clear.
Anyway...somtimes the title is enough to explain all that :).

"Union" 35 x 70cm ( 14 x28 inches)
Mixed media on canvas.

Original now sold.

Almost 2 weeks ago my computer got zapped by lightning. Unfortunately it died...taking with it most of my email contacts. So Maya - from Tumut - if you read this blog can you get in touch with me because I have lost all your contact details and can't return your mail.

Last weekend went well at Glenbrook Markets so I have decided to do another local market this coming weekend. You can find me at The Blue Gum Markets this coming Saturday (24th November) from 9am until 2pm. The markets are located at Faulconbridge Primary School in the lower Blue Mountains.

I will also be doing a day at the Bus Depot Markets in Canberra on the 9th December. This market is located at Kingston and is open on Sunday from 10am - 4pm. A few years ago I used to do a regular weekly stall here so I'm really looking forward to going back for the day.

My aim is to do at least one market and sometimes two a week so I'm currently checking out a couple of markets in Sydney and surrounding areas as well. I have my eye on the Kirribilli Art Market at Milsons Point, Sydney, and the Coledale Markets close to Wollongong. I will keep dates and times posted as I find out where I will be next.

I get the feeling that my regular readers may be dwindling somewhat :)...due to my lack of posts. So I thought I better give an update of what is going on although there are not many finished paintings to post. I'm currently working on 8 paintings at once so they will start to appear over the next few weeks hopefully. I have decided to do some market stalls in the lead up to Christmas so I will keep places and dates posted as I work out where I will be off to next. I will be displaying a few originals but mostly prints and cards, mounted prints and magnets at they sell well for me. (Update: I will be at Glenbrook Markets on Saturday the 17th Nov. from 9am - 2pm - markets are located within the Glenbrook Primary School, lower Blue Mountains)

As for other news I recently participated in the Carrington Art Fair in Katoomba and met a lovely couple from Singapore who bought up a lot of my stock and are now selling it out of their shop - Faeries Retreat -in Singapore.

I have also been approached by a colour therapist from Canada - Francesca Durham - who will be interviewing me in January about my mandala artwork. The interview will be broadcast on blog talk radio so when I have a final date I will post it here also. I am rather nervous about it but it will be a great opportunity to speak more in depth - giving a richer background - to share what I do and where my inspirations are coming from.

I had a bit of fun with this one experimenting with a little collage. Hard to see but within the flowers, her clothes, the hills and her 'egg' I've used patterned paper. I enjoyed the surprise of what revealed itself as I painted over the textures. I'll be doing that again I think.

A few words on current projects :

At the moment I'm working on 3 paintings for the Secret Life of Women exhibition starting the 1st September at Braemar Gallery, Springwood. The exhibition promises to be as rich and diverse as last years - with more activities and events to go along side it under the title of the 'Earth Spirit Festival'.

I'm also in the process of creating 3 other paintings for an exhibition with the Blue Mountains Artist Company . The exhibition will be held at the Newington Armory Gallery at Sydney Olympic Park and will run from the 10th November until the 16th November. I have some new ideas in store for that exhibition - varying slightly from the kind of paintings that I have been doing so far.

Today we finally set up the exhibition at the Niche Nosh Cafe in Katoomba. After a few delays it was well worth it - it looks lovely!! The cafe has beautiful pink and orange walls and it just looks wonderful. I'm very happy with it. The owners were so great drilling holes wherever we needed them so that everything fitted together just fine - and they were happy with the way the paintings blended in to their overall themes as well. Everyone was happy . Thanks to Kate who is curating cafe art in the mountains :)!.
The exhibition will run from now until the end of September. Niche Nosh Cafe is located at the top end of Katooma Street just down from the Carrington Hotel.

Some bookplates I was commissioned to make up for labels inside children's books.

Hello there, Well I'm not one for posts without pictures...but time goes on and I thought I would explain what I've been up-to. Im busy-busy of course. I'm currently preparing some works for next month as I've joined a rotating Cafe Exhibit up in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. I've been allocated a cafe called Niche Nosh - a vegetarian place - which is currently relocating to the old Blues Cafe just down form the Carrington Hotel. As well as this I have been accepted into 'The Nook' an art/craft co-op with an excellent location in Leura in the Blue Mountains. The shop is open daily and I will have a good size, permanent display of prints, cards and some originals there.
In other news my painting for the
Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation will be up for sale from this weekend at the Cinque Cafe in Newtown.
